After graduating from the Isle of Man Film’s celebrated Film Production course, Andy Blackburn quickly started making his student daydreams a reality. At the tender age of 19, his zero-budget short film Just Grey was shortlisted for the BBC3's 2003 New Filmmaker of The Year Award. This early honor built him a bridge to London, where he quickly progressed from PA’ing in the advertising industry to producing and directing a slew of acclaimed commercials and music videos for prominent clients around the world. 

Andy then spent a year putting his encyclopedic experience in commercial filmmaking to use by running his own production company in-house at a major advertising agency. His 2010 decision to go freelance and concentrate solely on directing commercials has paid off in a major way. His work since that time has taken him all over the globe for collaborations with brands such as Danone, Nestlé, Pampers, Proctor & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, and Resolve, among many others.

With his eyes set on the US market and the momentum of his debut dramatic feature film at his back, Andy officially signed with Savage in January 2015. His ability to capture natural and emotionally powerful performances from his actors, especially young children and babies, has cemented his status as one of the most sought-after directors of heartfelt TV commercials and branded films today—a distinction he’s poised to carry well into the future.
